Day 26: Auron to Refuge Longdon

A Gallivanting Girl

Sunday 4th August
Distance: 31km(507km), 1795m (5889ft) ascent, 1460m (4790ft) descent

Overall the most accurate description of the day would have to be long and rather windy. At one point the wind picked up to such a speed that it even prompted Brogan to burst into her Pocahontas rendition of ‘colours of the wind’. Descending a slope we saw some large birds of prey (most likely bearded vultures) and to ensure a prime photo opportunity I attempted to sacrifice Keith (see picture below), however this was to no avail. Upon our arrival we also discovered that everyone else had split the day, allowing a less painful experience, however we were served an entire roast lamb, so this made everything ok.
