Today was like walking in a volcano and after having eaten asparagus quiche for lunch (tres exotic!), we left town and started to walk uphill, and within five minutes I noticed that I had run out of water; it was not a good time. The only next place to get water was the next town, so we powered on and I occasionally took shlurps of other people’s, but in the end we all ran out. Fret not though! Despite crawling into this town, parched and sweaty, we did in fact make it to the fountain alive. Dinner at the Gite was a similarly joyous event as we had daube which, despite being accompanied by a slab of polenta, was amazing, followed by coffee and vanilla ice cream. Simply delish.
