18km (75km)
Monday 28th March
A leisurely start to the day as we only had a 15km walk to Pamplona, which meant we missed the early morning rain. We were on our own, again, for most of the way but at the moment the peace and quiet are not a problem. We arrived into the bustling city of Pamplona early; what a lovely city. We dumped our bags and spent the rest of the day being tourists and trying out our ever increasing Spanish language – ‘ Dos Gin tonicas’, Dos vinos tintos’, ‘Como pagar’…I’ve decided that I’m going to start Spanish lessons when I return to Edinburgh. The city seemed to go to sleep at 4pm and wake at 7pm and then was dead again by 10pm…I know there is a siesta time here but it’s only 12 degrees, hardly conducive to an afternoon nap…still a great atmosphere and we’re finding everyone very friendly towards the pilgrims which is an unexpected bonus on the trip. Dan leaves tomorrow so I’m on my own from now on 😱.

March 29, 2016 at 5:36 amHi Pauline lovely to read your blog and good luck with the walking.
It is a great record of the trip.
We are on our last day in the Alps weather has been mixed but we have had fun. Kids have loved the skiing. We had a great guide for 3 days and I managed to keep up with them. Oscar is well on his way on the snow boarding.
Hope the weather holds out for you and you start to relax in to the silence. On one of our walks at Camp when I was on my own for a bit I just watched my mind wandering and it was interesting to see where it went.
