Day 32: Olveiroa to Fisterra

Camino de Santiago

38km (894.3km)
Wednesday 27th April

It’s hard to keep going now as I feel like I’m on bonus miles, although Dan, newly arrived is keen 😱 . The route today was pleasant with a 15km bit in the ‘wilderness’ – so the guide book would have you believe, but in truth it may have been isolated but hardly wild! We met back up with some pilgrims from yesterday had lunch with them and then plodded on to Finisterra. I arranged to meet up  with a lovely American mother and daughter (Cindy and Nichole) at Finisterra before they caught their bus back to Santiago and left to continue their travels. It was quite a break down in communication when I introduced them to Dan…they thought that I’d met a new man enroute! Much hilarity once they realised that my new man was actually my husband. We bid them farewell, and then walked the final 6km to the lighthouse, the most western point in Spain, the official Finisterre then returned to the town and had a great meal followed by sundowners over the Atlantic…and one day to go…
