Preparation

Camino de Santiago

Monday 21st March

My rucksack is packed and I’m ready to go – I think. I am not sure how my bag has ended weighing 12 kilos as I could swear I’ve only packed two pairs of pants and my waterproofs – the rest of the weight must be made up of compeed and various electronic chargers (which I’m sure to dump on Daniel before he departs from Pamplona)…I keep telling myself that this is going to be relatively easy but the fear of the unknown makes it all just a wee bit scary. Dan is meeting me at the start point, St. Jean Pied de Port, on Friday so at least for the first three days I can rest easy. I tried to enlist Maddy to rewrite my thoughts into witty repartee but unfortunately she seems rather preoccupied with her Gap year in Sydney…

Good luck, I think you are very brave. Jenny and I are heading to Nepal on Friday. I like the website name!

Thanks for the link. Feel quite excited for you. Justinian was here yesterday and he, like Carlo and others who have trod the same path on their own, insists that there is nothing to be apprehensive about. You won’t be alone unless you choose to be. Bon Pelerinage! Mum X
