The latest report from the team is they are doing fine, Daniel has just past TS35 although last night was very difficult and the most challenging so far. All the crew seem to be happy and enjoying themselves

June 17, 2008 at 1:36 amHello Daniel,
You are doing GREAT!!! You have everyone at Shell in Houston rooting for you.
In church yesterday, Alan Bazard and myself said a prayer for the safety of you and all the other riders and crews.
If you go from Hamiliton OH to Blanchester in the morning before noon of any day, look for my brother holding up a sign to cheer you on. He lives 5 miles south of the course.
Keep up the great work.
Don’t worry about tomorrow, just hang in there and see how it turn’s out.

I have followed you the whole way, every day.
Legendary effort, I’m bummed that you had to pull out.
You should hold your head very high on your achievments (once the muscles repair!)
Again oustanding!
cheers

Amazing race! I still think you are a bit crazy but we need guys like you. You have also managed to have all those cynical Guys&Girls here to actually be truly interested in something: the map hanging just across in the corridor has been the center of attention for those last 9 days. It still is now as the news is spreading
2153.2 miles…congratulations. …I know you may think today: this is not enough but come on…Bravo and see you here!

June 17, 2008 at 6:10 pmInspiring to us all… brilliant effort, Daniel.
In fact, I was so inspired I went to the gym this morning!!!
Not quite 2153.2 miles, but it’s a start.
Who said that cycling was a pain in the neck…?
Looking forward to cracking a bottle of bubbly on your return,
Helen

June 18, 2008 at 9:34 amSo sorry to log on this morning to see you had to pull out. I hope you are not too disappointed, you have achieved something amazing, having the team there with you was proof enough of everyone’s commitment and support. Great event to bring everyone together for a good cause!
Hope you get your neck sorted and look forward to a full report!
Love from Oman,
Marta and all

I imagine you’ll be devastated at having to throw in the towel – and there is no way that you should be. You have every reason to be massively proud of what you have achieved. Truly, it is incredible. You are amazing.
Not clear exactly what has caused you to have to stop (neck?): I just hope that there is no lasting damage.
Pauline will of course be panicking now in case you decide to try is again next year.
Huge respect and best wishes
Patrick

Recover quick and if you need anything at all…please call me. Best to you and Pauline! Thank you so much for supporting the children I care for every day. You are a hero!!
